Mustachioed Jack Black Looks Mischievous on New 'Bernie' Poster
A story so unbelievable it must be true. EW.com has just posted the official poster for Richard Linklater's dark indie comedy Bernie, starring Jack Black, with terrific mustache, as a beloved citizen of a small Texas town. The story goes that Bernie made friends with wealthy 81-year-old widow Marjorie Nugent, but then killed her but it took months before anyone noticed it. This premiered at the LA Film Fest to middling reviews, like this one on Twitch, but I'm still intrigued, I love a dark Linklater comedy. Shirley MacLaine plays Mrs. Nugent, and Matthew McConaughey plays the town's DA, Danny Buck Davidson. Sounds fun.

Check Out This Vibrant New Poster for Pixar's Animated Epic 'Brave'
Later this week a brand new trailer for Pixar's first venture into the medieval epic will debut online, but in the meantime, we have a vibrant new poster for the anticipated summer release of Brave. Hopefully it's a film that will help audiences forget that Pixar missed the Oscar boat this year with Cars 2 getting left out of the Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Film. Princess Merida (voiced by "Boardwalk Empire" regular Kelly Macdonald) is front and center on the poster, and in the film she'll be joined by characters voiced by Emma Thompson, Craig Ferguson, Billy Connolly, Robbie Coltrane and more. Look!

Taylor Kitsch Gunning for Aliens in International 'Battleship' Poster
Spring is just around the corner, which means summer isn't far behind and the marketing machine for all the blockbusters is in full swing. There was quite an explosive and impressive tease for Battleship during the Super Bowl not too long ago, and while there's probably at least one more trailer coming before the film's May 18th release, this time we have a new international poster. It's a shiny Photoshop job, but it's the first real action shot of Taylor Kitsch being used as the star of the film as he charges at the dangerous alien enemy ready to blow their damn heads off. Here's hoping the film delivers a summer surprise. Look!

Mondo's Spectacular 'John Carter' Poster - Get One at Midnight IMAX
Take a look at perhaps the most spectacular poster for Andrew Stanton's John Carter poster we may ever lay eyes on. Mondo has debuted a new poster via Hero Complex for Stanton's sci-fi adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars, starring Taylor Kitsch as Carter. The poster shows John Carter standing over Barsoom, looking out over one of the cities, and you can also see some the air ships in the skies as well. It's utterly gorgeous, even though they don't list a designer's name. They do say that if you're attending midnight IMAX showings of John Carter on the late evening of March 8th, you'll be getting one of these.

First Poster for Tim Burton's Stop-Motion Animated 'Frankenweenie'
So far we've only seen a handful of photos for Tim Burton's adaptation of his stop-motion animated short Frankenweenie featuring the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Tom Kenny and Martin Landau as various characters. Now we have the first moving image of sorts from the film in the form on an animated poster teasing the film's fall release later this year. It's cute and a bit dark all at the same time, something we've come to expect from Burton. Even though it's an adaptation, it's about as close to something original Burton has done as a director in a long time. Check out the poster below!

Two New Promo Banners Lionsgate's 'The Hunger Games' Revealed
The World Will Be Watching! Two new promo banners have recently debuted for Gary Ross' The Hunger Games movie, being released by Lionsgate next month. I expect to see this up as billboards around town, at least one of them, which is fine by me! One banner comes from their official Facebook, the other comes from a recent debut on Hunger-Games.net, both via HeyUGuys, where they also have new character images from the official website. We're finally getting down to the last few weeks before this arrives, so expect marketing to ramp up big time with more like this. But as someone who is actually excited for this, I say bring it all on.

Check Out This Awesome Retro International 'Piranha 3DD' Posters
Capturing all of the cheesy, tongue-in-cheek horror along with the typical promiscuous sex and gratuitous nudity, Piranha 3D brought a hell of a lot of fun to theaters in 2010. Now the sequel is on its way (though we don't have an official release yet, it's expected sometime this year), and to go along with the TV spot from last October, we now have a cool poster for Piranha 3DD (because there's bigger boobs in 3D most likely) that once again feels like a retro poster for the hilarious horror series. It feels just like a cheesy 80's movie trying to get horny teens into theaters for the blood and boobs, and it will probably work. See two posters!

Mondo's Academy Awards Poster Series Debuts with 'Hugo' & 'Rango'
Which are your favorite Oscar nominees? Mondo has announced its first ever Academy Awards poster series, featuring limited edition prints of their favorite nominated films in select categories. There will be four posters from four different categories and the first two include: Martin Scorsese's Hugo and Gore Verbinski's Rango. The Hugo poster was designed by Kevin Tong, and while it's not 3D or lithographic, it is wonderful anyway. The Rango poster was designed by Tom Whalen, and has a sense of spunk and fun like the film. Check out both new posters below, which will go on sale during the Oscars on February 26th.

Guy Pearce Ready for Some Action on First Poster for Sci-Fi 'Lockout'
Just last month we got a taste for the sci-fi action to come in Lockout (or Escape from M.S. One as it's called internationally) starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace. The film follows a falsely convicted ex- government agent (Pearce), whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President’s daughter (Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum security prison. Now we have the stylish first poster for the flick straight from MTV. It's almost a throwback to action posters from the 90's with the flaming embers and explosions abound, plus one big ass gun. See it below!

Cool First Teaser Poster & Opening Clip for Indie 'Sound Of My Voice'
"Do not exit the vehicle. Close the garage door behind you." How about something a little spooky to end this fine evening? Fox Searchlight has started teasing their upcoming release of the indie Sound Of My Voice, which played at Sundance in 2011, with an opening clip and teaser poster. This is another cult film, but this time about two people who investigate a cult whose leader claims to be from the future. The poster plays off of a handshake from the film that's part of the cult, even though we don't get to see it in any of the footage. The film stars Christopher Denham, Nicole Vicius and Brit Marling, who also co-wrote the script.

Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace on Original 'Deep Throat' Poster
We've already gotten a look at Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard in the film Lovelace, a biopic on the infamous Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace, that also stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Adam Brody and Eric Roberts. Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are at work shooting the film right now, but we already have a tease as to what it will be like to see Seyfried as the titular abused adult film star in the form of a poster for Deep Throat from decades ago. I doubt this is a poster we'll see in theaters as it would create a lot of confusion, and maybe even controversy, but it's a nice touch. See the vintage poster below!

Check These Out: Flashy Capitol Motion Posters for 'Hunger Games'
Smile Away! Something fun for all the Hungers Games fans out there. Some "viral" marketing has popped up (via ComingSoon) in the form of ads from the Capitol for The Hunger Games movie, featuring three characters. Each one is basically an ad for a colorful product in the Capitol. There's one for Cinna, played by Lenny Kravitz, Katniss' stylist; one for Seneca Crane, played by Wes Bently, the Head Gamemaker; and one for interviewer Caesar Flickerman, played by Stanley Tucci, who looks like he's been distorted so much just to hide it's even him. These are kind of fun and flashy, more from the universe of Hunger Games.
